Former Steelers guard Alan Faneca has finally been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021!
Faneca, who was a sixth time finalist this year, made the Pro Bowl nine times during his 13 year career in the NFL, and was a six-time first-team All Pro.
Former Steelers RB Jerome Bettis told the Hall of Fame last year that he wouldn’t have been inducted if it wasn’t for Faneca.
The Bus said, “He was the best guard that I ever played with, and him pulling made him so much more special than I think all the other guards because his ability to pull and play in space was incredible. That was our bread and butter. In pass protection, he did it all. It wasn't just in the run game."
Faneca spent 10 seasons with the Steelers, and also played two seasons with the Jets and one season with Arizona.
In addition to Faneca, Bill Nunn was also inducted in the contributor category.
Nunn, who passed away in 2014 from complications of a stroke, spent 46 years with the Steelers as scout and personnel executive, and was instrumental in building the team that won four Super Bowls in the 1970s.
