Steelers Player Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Steelers were informed on Monday that a player has tested positive for COVID-19.

Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten released a statement that said the player is self-quarantined, and the team is working with the NFL and medical advisors to complete contact tracing.

The statement also said the player will be placed on the teams Reserve/COVID-19 list today, and the organization in the NFL's intensive protocol.

No other information was made available. On Saturday this past weekend the Steelers also had a staff member that tested positive COVID-19.

UPDATE: Vance McDonald has been placed on the Reserve/COVID list. As Brooke Pryor from ESPN pointed out on Twitter, McDonald was on the injury report Friday with an illness, but traveled with the team and played in the Steelers win over the Cowboys on Sunday.
