Night Work on Brandt School Road in Franklin Park to Occur July 17-19

PRESS RELEASE

PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that paving work on Brandt School Road between West Ingomar Road and Corporate Drive in Franklin Park Borough will occur during night hours – 7 p.m. Friday, July 17 to 6 a.m. Saturday, July 18 and 7 p.m. July 18 to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 19. The work, which is part of an ongoing project, is contingent on the weather.

As previously announced, periodic overnight work on Brandt School Road between Corporate Drive and Wexford Bayne Road has been occurring since June 15. Public Works is extending the night work to the section of the road between West Ingomar Road and Corporate Drive to reduce the time needed to complete the project, improve pavement quality, and mitigate potential traffic issues. Due to the impact on property owners in the area caused by the night work, the department worked with Franklin Park Borough for a waiver of its noise ordinance and is notifying the residents who might be affected.

The overall project will also continue to take place during daylight hours –  6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The remaining work, which is expected to last until August, includes shoulder work; installation of guide rail, pavement markings, and signage; as well as other miscellaneous construction.

Throughout the project, drivers can expect to experience short stoppages in work zones. Flaggers are being used to control traffic, and drivers are urged to use caution in the area.

The $4.3 million project is being done by A. Folino Construction, Inc., of Oakmont.
