Gov. Tom Wolf Has Called for a Statewide Shut Down

Governor Tom Wolf held a virtual press conference Monday (3/16) afternoon. Similar to what was announced in Allegheny County, he called for the shutdown of all 'non-essential' businesses statewide. This does not apply to carry-out and delivery only services.

He also noted that there are no plans to shut down any pharmacies, grocery stores, or medical facilities. Additionally, he is requesting that all childcare facilities close, but they are not being forced to shut down.

The shutdown is expected to last for two weeks.
