Rusted Root's "When I Woke" album was released on August 23, 1994. Such a great record!!
Former Rusted Root drummer, Jim Donovan, posted about the anniversary of the record on Facebook on Friday. He wrote, "On this day in 1994, my former band Rusted Root and I released what would become the catalyst for many dreams coming true. Prior to leaving Pittsburgh to fly to Pasadena to record with Bill Bottrell, I remember the band and I sitting on the floor of our dingy rehearsal studio in the Strip District where we visualized what we wanted for the album."
He added, "A year later this album went platinum and we were opening for Robert Plant who personally requested us to be the opening band on the Page and Plant 1995 Tour."
Donovan is now an Assistant Professor at Saint Francis University, and the leader of the band Sun King Warriors.
